The impact of Hollywood on Smart Drug consumption

Ever since the release of the original Limitless movie in 2011 (which was based on an earlier book by Alan Glynn) there has been an explosion in demand for smart drugs, especially Modafinil, which is the most relatable smart drug to NZT.

As shown by Google Trends, back in 2011 no one was searching for Modafinil, and NZT was certainly a more popular search term. With this much buzz generated from Limitless, the production company decided to follow up with a TV show, which follows on from the Limitless Movie, Limitless Season 2 is due to be released soon!

In 2014 Hollywood released the move Lucy, which was based around a brain enchancing drug called CPH4. As shown by the graph CPH4 was much more desired than NZT, most likely because consumers have been educated about smart drugs since 2011, however the outlook is that going into 2018 NZT will continue to be more popular than NZT, but Modafinil will continue to reign as the most popular cognitive enhancer.
